Deleting your account

You can delete your Recall account and everything in your library at any time, directly in the app. Here's how it works and what happens to your data.

How to delete your account

Account deletion is done inside the app, on the device where you're signed in:

Open your Profile

Launch Recall and go to the Profile tab.

Go to Privacy & AI

Tap Privacy & AI, then choose Delete account. (Because Recall is AI-native, deleting your account is also how you stop all AI processing.)

Confirm

Confirm when prompted. Your account and library are then permanently deleted. This cannot be undone — so export your library first if you want to keep a copy.

Export first, if you want a copy

Deletion is permanent. If you'd like to keep your saves, export your library before you delete: go to Profile → settings and choose the export option. Recall emails you a CSV copy of your library.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  • your account and profile, including your email and sign-in details;
  • your entire library — every saved item, along with its summaries, tags, transcripts, notes and thumbnails;
  • your collections, your Ask and Chat history, and your settings.

This data is removed from our live systems promptly and from routine backups within 30 days. Content that was processed by our AI provider, Anthropic, is deleted from their API logs within approximately 30 days. We may retain a minimal set of records — such as transaction and tax records — only where the law requires, and never your library content.

Cancel your subscription separately

Important

Deleting your Recall account does not automatically cancel your subscription, because billing is handled by Apple, not by Recall. To stop being charged, also cancel the subscription in your Apple ID: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Recall → Cancel.

Removing the app isn't the same as deleting your account

Deleting the Recall app from your iPhone removes it from that device, but your account and library still exist on our servers. To delete your data, use the in-app steps above before removing the app.
